The Gumshoe Strut is ready to break out of the shadows with his new project, “SideWalk”. The album, which will be available for free download this August on he and Pip Skid’s new Marathon of Dope imprint, will mark a new era for the artist who has been known for his honest rhymes and marching rhythms.
With ideas focusing on everything from rocking your Ipod to police mentality to winter depression, the album is an exploration of everyday city life. But those familiar with The Gumshoe Strut, SideWalk showcases a growth behind the boards, producing a thick and impactful sound not experieinced on previous releases. Songs like, “Bourgeiose” and “Beats” hit hard and leave their mark with thick basslines and knockin' drums, while “Wants Might Get” and “Heard You Were Dead” are laid back with softer melodies but maintain the albums intensity. The album is punctuated by a new focus and sharp delivery on the mic. The Gumshoe Strut balances the honest approach he has been known for with a new confidence and charisma that will please old fans and new ones alike.

SideWalk features a strong supporting cast of characters with appearances by Pip Skid, Birdapres and Yy of Peanuts & Corn Records, Azrael of Imaginations Treetrunk, Forgetful Jones of Sideroad Records, Saratonin and guitar by Tom Stokoe.
One small step for man, one giant strut for gumshoe!
